We recently completed an in-house project to enhance the functionality of our company’s Dolce Gusto coffee machine. We designed and 3D printed a custom tray that fits perfectly under the machine, effectively preventing spills of water or coffee. To give it a professional touch, we also incorporated our company logo into the design. This tray not only improves the machine’s usability but also reinforces our brand identity in the office.

The Need
Our company’s Dolce Gusto coffee machine was prone to occasional spills, which created a mess and required frequent cleaning. We needed a practical solution that would catch these spills while adding a touch of customization. Off-the-shelf trays didn’t fit our specific requirements, so we decided to design and 3D print a custom tray that would address these issues while showcasing our brand.
What We Did
- Custom Design: We analyzed the dimensions and functionality of the Dolce Gusto machine and designed a custom tray that fits perfectly underneath, ensuring it effectively catches any spills.
- 3D Modeling: Using advanced 3D modeling software, we created a detailed and precise model of the tray, tailored to the machine’s specific requirements.
- Branding: To make the tray unique to our company, we added our logo to the design, seamlessly integrating it into the tray’s surface.
- 3D Printing: The tray was then 3D printed using PLA (Polylactic Acid – a biodegradable and bioactive thermoplastic made from renewable resources like corn starch or sugarcane) material, resulting in a durable and functional accessory for our coffee machine.
This project demonstrates how 3D printing can be leveraged to create custom solutions that improve everyday office life. Our new tray not only prevents spills from the coffee machine but also reinforces our brand presence in the workplace.
